Made $3,410.00 less expenses. Profit $667.52 Sold 26 DVD's. Glenys donated tea and coffee for the night. Glenys willing to continue to produce DVD's this year if no one else wants to do them for a cost of $100. School Concert: Great success. Hall packed with students, family and friends. School raffle drawn on night. Profit from raffle $,132.64 Uniforms: Rhonda organized. Goods stocks of uniforms available. Calenders: These were made and purchased by students. Profit made was $363.50 Correspondence In: Parents Voice magazine, Volunteering skills bank-Council and other programs available, Mars Fundraiser kit, Canteen News, School canteen buyers guide, Cadbury Fundraiser Vision Portraits, Smart Fun raisers- Mothers Day stall suggestions, Expressions - fundraiser selling tea towels, aprons, carry bags, Golden Circle Fun Run rego form and information. Letter from Mr. Kelly requesting Parents Club to pay $650.00 for new carpet purchased for music room. Correspondence Out: Nil Treasurer: January 200 Opening balance : $5,247.00 Income : $nil Expenses : $ 1,819.87 Closing Balance : $ 3,427.13 School Council - Nil Report Principals: School year started well. Everyone settling in. Gardens and lawns-fixing sprinkler systems at present. Have water to put on oval and gardens now, $1,000.00 in budget to get new plants for gardens in April. Oval watered every night. Possible $2million from Govt package to school -decisions to be made on how to spend it - new sports pavilion??? Has to be major work. Will survey school community for ideas and suggestions. $200,000.00 for maintenance - possible new air conditioning, sun protection on classroom windows to block sun, Notes to go home from school regarding update on medical, permission to check for head lice, excursions down street, internet use, school rules. Presented letter from Mr. Kelly regarding carpet purchase. Mr. Kelly gained $2,000.00 from Rotary Club and $500.00 from Murray Downs Golf Club to purchase new instruments for school band. Carpet Court laid new carpet in music room, donated their labour but have to pay for carpet. After discussion, suggested it be forwarded to School Council for their consideration. The school has a new IT person to keep computer working. Glenys queried if grapevine in quiet area could be cut back more due to students possibly getting hay fever from the flowers. Maybe even put in shad sails instead of vine. Business Arising: Fundraising - Gaye suggested selling hot cross buns. Will Get prices from Rivett's and Bakers Delight to organize. Sell last week before school holidays. Other suggestion to run more movie nights. Curtains for sick bay - Glenys to make. Has ordered material from Dollar Curtains - good quality blackout material to shield sun $352.80 Grade 6 Grad - Italian Social Clubrooms semi booked for Monday 14th Dec 09. Final decision to be made about this years graduation. School Concert - need to book Town Hall for this years concert before it is booked out. Sunscreen required for swimming lessons - big pump bottle. DISCO: Friday 27th March. Rainbow Colour theme. Tracy to sort out purchasing Glow Products, Helpers needed on night. Mothers Day Stall: Gaye willing to buy small items. Need to decide if having stall this year. Some students reluctant to buy in older grades. Garden Night Working Bee - Monday 30th March at school 5-7pm. Possible plant donations from families of drought tolerant plants. Have gardens read for planting with plants from $1,000.00 available in funding. Subway orders starting Friday Feb 13th. Roster of helpers to be drawn up. Flag Raising - Glenys requested students be taught how to handle flag when raising on pole. Not drop it on ground, stand on it, but to respect the flag. Survey parents as to suitable time to hold meetings and what activities they maybe able to help within the school.
