HISTORY IN BRIEF 1971 November 26th Official Opening of the Library by the Honourable B. P. Dunn M.L.C. The Library was funded by the Parents & Friends of the school in conjunction with the Education Department when the North Wing of the school was constructed. It was named the "K. L. James Library" Library dimensions: Library 87m2; Office/Workroom 17m2; Total 104m2 1976 New buildings as an up-grade proposed including a new larger library - did not come to fruition. 1984 Introduction of computer technology for circulation/borrowing of resources. 1992 CD-Rom technology added. 1993 Complete PC computerisation of Library Management Systems:- Catalogue / Circulation. 1994 Internet introduced / became part of the Global Classroom. 1996 Planning for $1.3 million upgrade of whole school including a new Library. 1997 Original Library ceased functioning on Friday, December 19th. Site converted into two enlarged classrooms with an a joining withdrawal room. 1998 New Library became fully operational on Monday, March 2nd.
